| The Cairngorm Mountains, the highest
in the UK, dominate the landscape and the River Spey, famous for its salmon, winds its way through
the valley. The area is rich in wildlife including speciality
birds such as Capercaillie, Golden Eagle, Scottish Crossbill
and Crested Tit. At RSPB Loch Garten there's the opportunity
to watch Ospreys (Apr- Aug); Red and Roe Deer can be regularly seen; and even the
more elusive mammals such as Pine Marten and Badger, can sometimes
be glimpsed by those with keen eyesight. There's plenty of activities and attractions within just a few miles: |
